Nuke Oops Incident
Old story but interesting: "Air Force official fired after 6 nukes fly over U.S. B-52 bomber, accidentally armed with warheads, went over several states updated 1:43 p.m. CT, Wed., Sept . 5, 2007 WASHINGTON - A B-52 bomber was mistakenly armed with six nuclear warheads and flown for more than three hours across several states last week, prompting an Air Force investigation and the firing of one commander, Pentagon officials said Wednesday. Rep. Ike Skelton, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, called the mishandling of the weapons “deeply disturbing” and said the committee would press the military for details. Rep. Edward J. Markey, a senior member of the Homeland Security committee, said it was “absolutely inexcusable.”" http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20427730/ |

Re: Nuke Oops Incident
Hahaha! I remember when this happened! Not the first time someone has done dangerous and stupid shit in the military and won't be the last. We had one individual who did multiple STUPID shit. There was a fluorine accidental release, she said,"Yah, Fluorine, you know good for your teeth?"... same person put a depleted uranium shell on her desk as a paperweight because she thought it looked pretty and allowed a contaminated piece of refuse to be shipped as waste. She's probably bald and dying somewhere by now.
