Re: Nigerian Man Scams an Australian Woman Over $350,000 Life Savings

I had a female friend fall for it about ten years ago.

A guy complimented her to death, sent a picture of a random guy, then started asking for money for various things.

He proposed. She accepted. He then claimed to be in a motorcycle accident. He, of course, never made it to to the US.

She won't say what she lost, but, has since moved on.

I have no sympathy for gormless people, if the mere utterance of the place called Nigeria didn't set off alarm bells then she deserved getting scammed.
To be fair, there never was any utterance of Nigeria until after the scam was exposed.

She should have realised it was a scam in the first place, she even had friends and family warning her but she ignored them because she is gullible and thick.
It never entered her head to check out where the money was going? Nigerian fraudsters only exist because of dummies.
