ALL foreigners must be treated by GPs for FREE after an order slipped through by the Government.
The decision — which could cost taxpayers millions of pounds — was taken amid fears health chiefs could be sued under human rights laws.
And it applies to all visitors to Britain — including tourists, businessmen AND illegal immigrants.
The directive — quietly issued as MPs went on their summer hols — has sparked fears that GPs’ waiting lists will soar, making it even harder to get an appointment.
Thousands more “health tourists” may also be encouraged to come here to enjoy free treatment that can be very costly in their home countries. Doctors must now accept as a patient any foreign visitor in Britain for more than 24 HOURS.
Two senior backbench MPs — who uncovered the order — have written to David Cameron to demand he personally intervenes to review it.
Tory Nicholas Soames and Labour’s Frank Field, co-chairmen of the Cross Party Group on Balanced Migration, said: “The public will be astonished to learn that access to GPs in the NHS has been opened to anyone in the world who comes to Britain. We believe this is absolutely unacceptable.”

Until now, GPs have not registered patients unless they could prove they have a right to live in the UK, leaving foreigners only entitled to emergency treatment in hospitals. Now they can receive free blood tests, jabs and even prescription drugs. The order makes Britain one of the softest touches for health treatment in the world. In the last year nearly 3,600 “overseas visitors” have had hospital treatment worth at least £1,000 a time.
Officials last night insisted the order was issued by the Primary Care Commission — a health quango — to fend off a growing number of lawsuits.
The Department of Health said GPs have always had to take in illegal immigrants but few were doing so, which was why the “clarification” was issued.
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt last night pledged to review the directive.
He said: “It clearly isn’t right that illegal immigrants could get free treatment on the NHS. We will do all we can to fix this abuse of the system.”

This made me so fucking angry today. Can't even get the treatment you want on the NHS at the moment so god knows what it will be like now it's free for all. Oh right, free to foreigners but not the actual British people who pay for the NHS.

A Brit in India suffered brain damage while the hospital checked if he had enough medical insurance to pay for the treatment. A Indian illegal immigrant had two hip replacements on the NHS at a cost to the British tax payer of £35 K.

The doctors refused to even take in consideration the possibility to re-attach the foot without guarrantees to get their fucking money. In the meantime, here, people were desperately trying to raise the money. And the foot was waiting to be re-attached. Long story short, as the clock had run out, he lost his foot.
In Italy, that would have never happened to some Thai citizen, NEVER.

In my opinion, when there's no life threatening issue, SEIZE a plane and send the dude back to his country, at his govt. expenses.
They will claim even more, if you won't stop them in time.

You create legislation like this and it will not make the immigration issue go away.

We do not want these people in our country, they pollute the very social cohesion and economic stability of our country.

Not only is the NHS under pressure, so is our housing, jobs, schools - all going to foreigners first and our own kids who strive to get a good education suffer as a result. Our quality of service in almost every sector has gone down the pan.

Our own people can't even get a fucking council house and they claim there's a shortage - why is that then??? Explain why there is a dramatic increase in Chinese and Eastern European people in our neighbourhood who have blagged all the newbuild flats? My husband has lived here 45 years and can't get a bloody two bedroom place yet the vast influx of immigrants who are taking our public housing is sick. Plus they get money to buy furniture!!!!!

And not forgetting crime. That has escalated and when police release official crime figures we've 'not to talk about the perpetrators'. Why??? Well. Think you know. Here in London Romanian's are rife in the streets and are mugging the public daily. 4,500 mobile phones are stolen a MONTH. I and my cousin have been the victim of street muggings by Romanians and the police are having a nightmare controlling it. Rape has shot up and it's due to Eastern Europeans but the dumb cunt media keep it all under their hat.

Instead of blubbering about some nobody impersonating a monkey at a football match for weeks on end, focus on sorting our fucking country out

You forgot the baby factories.

Yes there are white trash with baby factories but the immigrants pop them out like once a month.

Also, dont discuss how eastern cultures and their views towards women have no effect whatsoever on rape cases, assaults and murders!

For many many years New Zealand had a no-fault injury compensation scheme known as ACC as in accident compensation corporation
It still exists in its basic concept but one of its vagaries was that everyone who was entitled to claim compensation local or not
This included touring sportsmen/women amateur or professional
so theoretically a touring rugby player was allowed to file a claim(and many did) if they picked up an injury here and we the local taxpayer paid 80 per cent of their wages until they returned to work
