A gunman killed at least six people, including a police officer, Monday afternoon at a supermarket in Boulder, Colo., law-enforcement officials briefed on the investigation said.

A live television feed showed a man being led away from the scene, handcuffed, bloodied and partially naked.

The shooter’s motive hasn’t been determined, one of the law-enforcement officials said.

“My heart is breaking as we watch this unspeakable event unfold in our Boulder community,” Colorado Gov. Jared Polis wrote in a statement posted to Twitter.

Witnesses described to local television stations how a man suddenly opened fire in the King Soopers store, sending shoppers into a panic and trying to escape as police rushed to the scene.

Or maybe he cracked under the pressure of lockdowns and covid protocols. Boulder is very strict as far as the mandates. I was in Boulder when Covid first started and spent 10 days there in November. Most of the stores were closed. Which means many people have no jobs.

It's like two different worlds when I got back home to Texas, where everything is open.
