Yea I figured it was a plea out, just here even people admitting to guilt ties the court systems up for at-least a year. Well, at least in the few places i have lived.

Oh I agree...he'll more than likely die in custody. But sometimes the court needs to make a very loud very clear statement. My partner and I got a serial pedophile and child pornographer one time for 450 years total...now that sends a message...loud and clear. I know it makes no real difference after 100 years, but the 450 year sentence made me feel like it was a message to other idiots.

They're starting to hand out " dangerous offender " sentences here more often, which is basically life..... You're sent to prison indefinitely, and even if you're paroled you are monitored for life...... It still usually takes repeat offences of a violent nature to get that designation though. I can think of a bunch of people in my community that have committed numerous violent offences, are not committed to changing, and are basically time bombs waiting to go off again..... It's too bad that someone will have to be victimized again. Far as pedo's go, I don't think there is a cure for that other than a bullet. At least you got one of the streets though. |
