Mother Sold Her Two Daughters To A PEDOPHILE For $30,000

A mother who sold her two daughters to a paedophile for $30,000 has been caught after two years on the run.

Jeanifer Lee Segrest was arrested at her home after police received a tip following her appearance on the TV show ‘America’s Most Wanted.’

The 38-year-old is alleged to have sold her daughters, then aged five and six, to a known pedophile and allowed them to be repeatedly molested.

The molester also took pornographic photos of the girls with the mother’s full knowledge in return for the cash payments.

Segrest went on the run after Cobb County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia filed charges of child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes two years ago.

It followed the arrest of the young girl’s aunt and Segrest’s husband Cesar Moran on child abuse charges.

Both had been involved in selling the girls to a married pedophile who worked as tutor.

Segrest remained a target for US Marshalls and was known to use as many as eight aliases.

When she was finally tracked down she had been living in plain sight within yards of a police station in Port Wentworth, Georgia.

Segrest was arrested by the US Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force along with her current boyfriend Marcus Ortega.

Her mugshot and details of her alleged crimes were featured in a December 2011 edition of ‘America’s Most Wanted’.

The show told how Segrest and her sister-in-law Rebecca Wiggins sold the girls for sex to a pedophile called David Ray.

He shot himself after police raided his home and were on the point of arresting him.

Segrest went on the run while Wiggins was arrested.

Wiggins was jailed for life last August after both girls gave evidence against her in court and described the shocking abuse they had suffered for at least five years.

Police said they received a tip off about Segrest’s whereabouts after the airing of the AMW show.

America Most Wanted producer Angeline Hartmann told a local TV station she was able to speak with Segrest after her arrest and told her most people thought she was a ‘monster.’

Hartmann said: ‘I was able to have a conversation with her and I said, ‘People across America think you’re a monster. You’re supposed to a mother protecting your own children, but instead you’re accused of pimping out your own children,’ and she basically denied everything and later she was in tears as they brought her into the police department.’

Ortega later told WTOC TV that he had no idea his girlfriend was a fugitive wanted for selling her own children.

He didn’t know her as Jennifer Segrest but as Jenny Rose.

‘I know she didn’t do anything wrong,’ Ortega said.

Describing the arrest he said: ‘I was in the room when the police got here and then pulled me on the ground. They didn’t ask me any questions.’

He and Segrest have two sons together, ages 3 and 4.

They have been removed from the home, but Ortega said after a court hearing he was hopeful of being reunited with them.

Segrest’s husband remains a fugitive.
