I wasn't making fun of him. I was telling him the truth, which is what he so desperately needs if he wants to live.

Once he starts eating healthier, and loses about 150 lbs maybe he could start walking and accelerate his weight loss. Until then he could do exercising with his arms. And I don't mean lifting a fork to his mouth.

It's not rocket-science. He doesn't need a team of NASA scientists, just some people around him with some common sense.

Good for you for losing so much weight! I used to be a land-whale as well. Lost 70 pounds 16 years ago. And I'm not a rocket builder, but I do know basic nutrition and whatnot.

Good for you too.

Yeah, he needs to make a huge change and needs help. My highest was 240. How the hell do you get to 600 pounds?

Bad choices and whoever feeds him is just not caring.

Re: Morbidly Obese Guy Asks For Help

He may need to have surgery as a last resort. I have often wondered how people get to 600, 1000 pounds. I guess they give up one day and figure they can get up the next day. It goes on and on. People around them feed them, most likely out of love.

Congratulations to the two of you who have lost so much weight! I know it is not easy! People are not always kind.

Things happen sometimes which are out of our control, not just bad choices. There are injuries or medical issues involved making it a lot harder.

Re: Morbidly Obese Guy Asks For Help

he should try anorexia
or tapeworms.
tapeworms in the intestine usually cause no symptoms, some people experience upper abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, and loss of appetite.

Re: Morbidly Obese Guy Asks For Help

Good posts Azimuth and I agree on both of them. As you mentioned he isn't feeding himself. In most cases like Robert's there is usually a mom or other family member catering to their wishes and not watching what they eat, etc. They really are assisting in murdering their loved one by feeding them.
