A Mississippi woman boasted on Facebook about burning a stray cat alive to “set an example” for other felines who come near her Jackson home — and posted a disgusting photo apparently showing the scorched animal.

“I Should take it to the backyard and finish it off ... stay away from my house!!!!” the woman, identified as Shay Houston, wrote on her Facebook page Sunday night.

Two minutes later, she jumped to defend herself, writing: “Yes I burned the dam cat BIG F---ING DEAL OH WELL!!! Bet they stay away from my house now...”

Houston tried rationalizing her supposed killing in a comment responding to one of many outraged replies from her Facebook friends.

She told another commenter to not get upset about the twisted torching because “just the furr



was burned but it was still breathing (sic).”

By Tuesday, Houston removed all of the cat posts. She did not return a Facebook message requesting comment.

The self-professed cat killer uses an alias on Facebook, according to MS News Now, but her identity has not been revealed. She lives with her mother, who said she knew nothing about a burned cat but refused to let her daughter speak with reporters.

The woman's mother told a local news station she didn't know about the cat killing, and wouldn't let her daughter speak with reporters.

A woman saying she is Houston called the station Tuesday to say the alleged arson "never happened." She said it was a "joke" and that she took the photo from elsewhere on the Internet, but refused to provide a source link.

Police have not filed any charges and are still investigating the posts, Officer Colendula Green told the Daily News Tuesday morning.

“We got the information on Facebook, we acted it, but we still have more to look into,” she said.

well actually i was thinking it should happen without someones intervention.... i don't think burning a person is any more or less barbaric than burning a cat

The punk bitch my first gf left me for used to love posting pics of neighbor's cats that he'd shot in his backyard on message boards and was even caught calling up a neighbors dog and shooting it in the face with a small-gauge shotgun after it'd chewed up his Mom's flip-flop a day or two prior(yes, he lived with his parents).
While the investigation was underway I linked the Detective to the posts/pics, but i'm pretty sure nothing ever came of it.
