Miracle Baby Survives 11 Story Fall from Minneapolis Balcony
FOX-14 May 2014 Musa Dayib, 15-months old, has fractures to both arms, his ribs and spine ,he also has a punctured lung, is breathing with the help of a ventilator but is expected to live, after slipping through a railing. His doctor said his youth as well as the softer ground he landed on helped contribute to his survival. Family and friends in Minneapolis's Somali community say the family is in shock. "When people found out he survived, no one could believe it," community activist Abdirizak Bihi told the Star-Tribune newspaper. "I'm more concerned about his dad and his mother," Mr Bihi said. "They're devastated. They can't even speak." Dr Tina Slusher, who treated Musa, said an adult who fell from that distance would almost certainly be dead. "Little [children] are more flexible and don't break as easily as we do and he also fell in a very small patch of mulch [loose material put on soil]," she told local broadcaster KARE. But she added it was "definitely a miracle. It's God's gift to his family. Kids don't fall this far and make it often." The towering Cedar-Riverside apartments make up the state’s largest housing project with more than 1,000 units, many of them occupied by Somali immigrants. The father was watching the boy and his 3-year-old sister while the mother was out running errands. The tragedy unfolded in less than a minute when the dad walked into another room and the little girl opened the sliding glass door. In an instant, her brother fell through the bars. The girl ran to get her dad, saying “Daddy, the baby fell,” Bihi said. “I expect him to survive,” Dr. Slusher said. “It’s amazing.”   |

So the doctors and medical equipment had nothing to do with his survival? oh and that patch of mulch....

But with fractures to his arms, ribs, and spine, his recovery sure as hell won't feel divine. That little tyke is looking at a lifetime's worth of serious surgery.

Always gotta be somebody with a smartass comment! I did not say praise be to Jesus & thankyou Lord God in heaven it must have been angels blah blah blah.... No. I said it is a miracle. It is. He should not have survived that fall but he did. Mulch, doctors, quick reactions ect all came together for this miracle to take place. Simply the fact that the baby was alive to give the doctors anything to work with is astonishing. Ordinarily one would expect just a clean up with dust pan & shovel. |

Well the definition of mircale is an unusual or wonderful event that is believed to be caused by the power of God, so...  In any case I'm sure that his light weight also had an effect on the matter, but the media can report more of the credit to god then basic physics and medical care, should've named the doctor instead. |

His weight didn't have anything to do with it. He was ramping up to 9.8m/sec squared just as quickly as anyone else would have.
