I also considered using birdshot, so that I don't have to worry about shooting the neighbors. Birdshot is an underrated home defense shell. People always say go with buckshot, but with birdshot you don't have to worry about missing, no wall penetration, and it will still drop someone fairly easily, and if it doesn't, they will be in a lot of discomfort and would be easily submitted.

He executed the girl Tarantino style after he already shot her, thats not self defence as she was down and out. It is murder and him saying "because she laughed at me" only makes it easier to say "well he wanted revenge".

I live like 100 miles away from this. My state unfortunately doesn't have the Castle doctrine in statute, but in practice you're not going to be prosecuted unless it was eggregrious, as this situation was. As an example of how over the top things need to be to prosecute, a guy blew away a cop with a shotgun, they did a drug bust on the wrong house and the owner thought it was a home invasion, he was arrested but let go the next day and no charges were ever filed.

The teens were trying to burgle the house. They've been conclusively linked to another burglary, and are suspected in a number of them. Prescription drugs were stolen in the other cases.

Good on him for killing the little *******. Thats what you get for breaking into someones home. The man is kind of dumb though, its like he wants to be jailed or something for this.
