Are Mexican Truck Drivers Coming to Michigan?
Mexican truck drivers may soon start turning up on Michigan roads. U.S. truck drivers are not happy about it. The Obama administration announced a deal Thursday that will allow Mexican truck drivers to ply their trade on US roads. The deal ended a nearly 20 year ban. Under the deal, Mexican drivers and their trucks will have to meet US safety and other standards. Union and independent truck drivers don’t like the deal. Leo Wilkins is an independent trucker from the Saginaw area. He says allowing Mexican truckers on US roads will cost American jobs. “It would be a benefit to them, but it’s not helping our labor force any. It’s just destroying more of our labor force that’s already been destroyed." The US Chamber of Commerce applauds lifting the ban on Mexican truckers. Mexico imposed high tariffs on more than 2 billion dollars worth of US products annually, in retaliation for the ban, which Mexican officials claim violated the North American Free Trade Agreement. GET READY FOR MORE JOB LOSSES I am a truck driver and I've seen the shit tier tractors mexican truck drivers use in El Paso,TX , Laredo,TX, and also in CA,NM,AZ. They are old ass shit equipment. Go to any TA, Flying J, Petro Truck Stop and ask the Professional Drivers what they think of this bullshit. |

Re: Are Mexican Truck Drivers Coming to Michigan?
We should just stop dealing with Mexico completely. They are quite literally, fucking cockroaches and leeches. The feds let them do it too, they dont serve our best interests, they serve and protect their own pocket books. My country is turned into a big fucking disgrace. |

Re: Are Mexican Truck Drivers Coming to Michigan?
Hmm, I really dont understand why they need to transport the goods past the mexican border and up into the north region of the US. They could simply drop their loads at a destination on the border where US citizens and drivers could then carry the load from there. This makes no sense to me. Trailers dont have to be held to such standards as trucks and could easily be passed from tractor to tractor as they are dont millions of times a day. I wonder what protocals will be in effect to ensure these drivers dont deliver their load and then decided to stay in the states and work under the table. Since they already own their tractor, it would not be hard to get a pullers job doing local work that doesnt require you to pass through a scale. |

Re: Are Mexican Truck Drivers Coming to Michigan?
I dunno man, I see a shitload of truckers of all races drive like shit. Seems like its more determined by the load than the race. Container and single tank drivers are the worst! Fucking fly by doing 70 when the limit out here is 55.. Thats probably why you see them on the side of the road all the time with CHP. Lucky for me ive got a governer in the truck that doesnt let me go over 60. Then again its alot of arab, mexican and chinese drivers that I do see so maybe theres something to this. One thing I do know is the slowest drivers out there are the Safeway trucks. They go about 53 consistantly, fucking drives me nuts losing that 2mph |

Re: Are Mexican Truck Drivers Coming to Michigan?
When will the insanity end? Dammit we need to stop the flow of illegals and deport all those in the country illegally. All this is going to do is cost American's jobs and result in more illegals coming into the country. Our so called President needs to be bitch slapped for allowing this to happen. |
