He was a registered firearms owner, which in the UK, is extremely difficult to obtain. You have to be part of a country shooting club or a farmer and have to prove no mental illness or previous convictions. It's why we have such a low gun crime rate here. Even with a licence the type of guns you can have are extremely limited and the hoops you have to jump through to obtain them are such that nobody really bothers trying.

My husband lived in Woolwell for a number of years + knew of the area where the incident happened. We also lived in Estover very briefly.

His mother, 51 year old Maxine Davison:

He shot and killed his 51-year-old mother, Maxine, before going outside and "immediately" shooting dead the 3 year old girl.

The other victims included a 43-year-old man who was related to the girl, a 59-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman who died later at Derriford Hospital.

The two people injured by Davison who are still being treated in hospital are a 53-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man who are known to each other, the force said.
