Re: Man Who Killed Bin Laden Revealed: Rob O'Neill Named As SEAL Team Six Hero
There's a big difference between a soldier deciding policy and the commanders deciding policy. He knew the rules when he signed up, if he didn't like it he was free to choose another occupation. In the opinion of his colleagues, he's a sellout It is what it is. |

"Fuck you, I killed Bin Laden!", said the first pig. "Fuck you, I killed Bin Laden!", said the second pig. "Fuck you, I watched you kill Bin Laden and sold my story to the media, telling them *I* killed Bin Laden.", said the media-savvy pig. meh |

He knew the investigation was coming and he will be punished in some way. He had to have known this, but since he's Mr Hot-Shot now he probably doesn't care. |

I really don't see anything he revealed as being classified. He didn't say anything that wasn't already public knowledge, and was released already by people above him. The only thing new was his identity. If they go after anyone, it should be the guy profiting from his lies. |

He is the one that profited, that's why he talked. It's not up to him to decide what's classified and what's not. If his superiors tell him to shut up in the name of national security it's not up to him to decide. |

Re: Man Who Killed Bin Laden Revealed: Rob O'Neill Named As SEAL Team Six Hero
Where did he profit? Another seal wrote a book, and a couple movies were made. I'm not aware of O'Neil having anything to do with either one. And again, he didn't say anything that wasn't already released by his superiors. I would be against this guy if he did give up sensitive information, but he didn't. If you have a problem with Navy seal missions being public knowledge you should have a problem with the administration. We would probably never have known anything about this mission or this Seal if the administration didn't release every detail. Rob O'Neil is an American hero, a normal guy, who ended up being a member of the best tactical force in the world. The Navy should make him their poster soldier. |

Matt Bissonette is in trouble, too. He's actually suing his lawyer right now for telling him it was ok to reveal certain details about the UBL raid. You get paid for doing t.v. interviews and paid to do the publicity for those. He's making a nice chunk of change off this deal. There are a million reasons as to why missions are classified and I don't have a single issue with them being classified. Especially if those details keep the lives of the men on these teams and their families safe. Not to mention national security. When you get to tier one status, you know damn well EVERYTHING is classified. He knew this and he decided he was better than everyone else and opened his pie hole. He will be shunned forever. |

You think the TV interviews and other news stories were done for free What part of this is hard to understand? It's not up to him to decide what is classified or sensitive information. He knew this when he signed up. You can sit there and say it's not sensitive, but it's not up to you either....... He directly disobeyed protocol for personal profit. |
