Man Stabbed and Stoned to Death Because of a Football Shirt [Brazil, 26 October 2011]

I can't believe that something like this can happen in 2011

An homeless man identified as Ginaldo Gomes, 46, was brutally killed on Tuesday (26/10/2011). The crime occurred in Mercado Público, Bairro dos Estados neighborhood (João Pessoa / PB).
According to the witnesses, the murder was motivated by the fact that the victim had sold a shirt of Flamengo, and didn't split the revenue from the sale. Ginaldo Gomes would have sold the shirt for BRL 5 (2,85 USD) and did not share the revenue with other drugs addicted who lived along with him. In addition to nine strokes of a knife in the neck he still had his head crushed by several stones.

It seems to be more and more common that people are killed for what we deem as nothing but to them nearly a buck and a half will either get them their fix or feed them, nobody should have to live in the rat infested shit holes they do, but who is to blame?, them, their governments, or richer countries that exploit them?.
