Man Says Penis Was Mistakenly Amputated
July 24, 2014 nbcnews.com An Alabama man who went into surgery for what was supposed to be a routine circumcision filed a lawsuit contending doctors mistakenly amputated his penis, but a hospital said Thursday the claims were without merit. The lawsuit, filed in state court on Tuesday, says Johnny Lee Banks, Jr. went to Princeton Baptist Medical Center last month for a circumcision that went horribly wrong. Banks' penis was gone when he awoke after surgery, according to the suit, yet no one ever warned that amputation could result from the procedure. Banks and his wife, Zelda Banks, are seeking an unspecified amount of money in the complaint. The suit accuses the defendants of medical malpractice, negligence and other wrongdoing. A statement released by hospital spokeswoman Kate Darden said the allegations lacked merit. "We intend to defend all counts aggressively,'' said the statement from Baptist Health System Inc., which operates the hospital in Birmingham. The hospital declined further comment. The suit also names Urology Centers of Alabama and Dr. Vincent Michael Bivins, who works there; and Simon-Williamson Clinic and Dr. Alan C. Aikens, who works at the clinic. Representatives from neither business nor the doctors returned messages seeking comment. Bivins was treating Banks for conditions that led to the circumcision, the suit says, and Aikens was scheduled to perform the procedure. Banks never received an explanation of what led to the amputation of his penis, according to the lawsuit, and the complaint doesn't say what might have happened. The suit also says multiple other parties could be added later as named defendants. |

Re: Man Says Penis Was Mistakenly Amputated
One of my former bosses, (personal injury attorney), got an $18.8M verdict for a man who lost the lower half of his body, including his sex organs. He was confined to a wheelchair. In court, the attorney referred to him as having become, "a Humpty Dumpty." One of the jurors said, "He lost his dick, man! That's worth millions!" The plaintiff is the reason forklifts and motor vehicles have those loud noises when they are backing up. And he was always a pleasant guy, joking with us and very friendly. Meanwhile, a woman who sold dolls on tv, who cut her pinkie opening a can of cat food, tried to sue the company who packaged the food. I taped her on tv. Not even a fucking scar! |

$18.8M!? Hmmm... What can I get this bad boy of mine caught in that has unclear instructions and would net me a large chunk of cash...this is America after all, home of the free, and home of the lawsuit. |

Re: Man Says Penis Was Mistakenly Amputated
Sooooo, There was a complication with the circumcision procedure and they had to cut off the penis? How the HELL does that happen?!? If it's JUST a bit of extra skin that has no importance, how do you lose your cock over it? Seems to be a bit more complicated and vital than some are putting on. That . . . . .or someone sneezed while using the scalpel. |
