Man Robbed Bank, Immediately Threw Cash in Air Yelling 'Merry Christma

A Colorado Springs, Colo., robber was anything but discreet after he stole thousands from a downtown bank on Monday afternoon, with witnesses saying he immediately ran outside and yelled "Merry Christmas!" while throwing wads of cash into the air.

An eyewitness told KKTV that the man, identified by police as 65-year-old David Oliver, left the bank, threw money into the air, shouted the holiday wishes, then went to a nearby Starbucks where he sat down and waited to be arrested.

Police said Oliver was arrested without conflict and no weapon was found on his person, though the suspect had reportedly claimed to have a weapon while robbing the nearby Academy Bank.

Colorado Springs police Sgt. Jim Jeffocat, did not confirm to The Denver Post that money was thrown into the air or that the man yelled “Merry Christmas.”

The amount of money stolen remains undisclosed, but Jeffocat told reporters that thousands of dollars remain missing.

Witnesses say people walking down the street picked up money and returned it to the bank.

Sounds like he was after '3 hots and a cot'...for a protracted period of time.

A 'retirement strategy' of sorts.

There is 0% likelihood that that guy isn't one of the coolest people alive today.
Nobody does shit that rad anymore.

I really can't say if I imagined this or what, but I think that some homeless people kicked over one of those retarted San Fransisco police robots--the type that rolls around town looking for street feces and doing random tire PSI checks with its stupid Swiss Army pressure gauge finger, expecting people to tear off their own fines and/or court dates from its equally stupid receipt dispenser. They then shat and pissed the robot hard, and hopefully for days, while it laid there computing its beeps for assistance. That's very cool as well, but a group effort still.

Contradiction. It should say some people returned the money Like it says in other reports
Meanwhile, according to witnesses, people were frantically running down the street trying to grab the bills flying in the breeze. A witness says that at least some people returned the money to the bank.
I would be one of those frantically people.
Bet he just wanted some jail shelter during winter
