Man Misses Job Interview to Save Baby From Oncoming Train! Delroy Simmonds may not have the cool gadgets or bodysuit, but there's no doubting he's a superhero. The father of two was en route to a job interview Tuesday when a wind gust blew a stroller carrying a 9-month-old boy onto the tracks at New York's Van Siclen Avenue subway station. Simmonds leaped off the platform to save the child as the J train barreled down the tracks. The baby, treated for cuts, is going to be OK. "Everybody is making me out to be some sort of superhero," Simmonds said. "Anybody in that situation should have done what I did." He doesn't want praise, just "a job." Somebody hook this guy up, please? One question, where was the, "mother?" |

Re: Man Misses Job Interview to Save Baby From Oncoming Train! Yesterday we told you about Delroy Simmonds, the unemployed father-of-two who skipped a job interview to leap off a Brooklyn, New York, subway platform and rescue a toddler whose stroller had blown onto the tracks. He didn't want praise, he just wanted a job. Now, thanks to his incredible story going viral, he's getting both! A janitorial firm at JFK Airport heard about his heroics and offered him a job. "We read the story and were like, 'Wow! This guy is unbelievable. This guy is a hero,'" said manager Guy Rodriguez, adding that his actions, "say a lot about his character." Simmonds says he can't wait to get started and, "appreciates", the opportunity. Humble to the end, like a true hero. Very cool ending! He looks like a nice guy :) |
