I wouldn't even call that vigilante justice in that case. Just simple defense of another person to kill the attacker. Don't get me wrong, I'm still fine with your definition too, as it quite often means a long, drawn out painful death, which is quite fitting for a child rapist, in my opinion.

Aggravated defense, I guess. You could simply subdue the child rapist to defend the child... but I doubt I ever would stop at just that if I ever came across that situation.
