A leopard in India’s West Bengal state has injured a man as it was fighting its way out of netting used by locals to trap the animal.

Footage shows the locals attempting to trap the leopard after it strayed into a residential area. The animal managed to escape.

Now, officials say they are not aware of its whereabouts. Activists believe the increasing human population has depleted the habitat of wild animals and this has forced them to stray into human settlements.

Hopefully, both the Leopard and the villagers learn something from this. The Leopard will hopefully stay away from the village after its rough encounter with humans, and the people need to learn to stop encroaching on the Leopards' habitat.

Sadly, only the Leopard stands any real chance of learning anything from the incident.
