Linkin Park Singer Chester Bennington Hangs Himself

Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington has died, Brian Elias of the Los Angeles County coroner's office confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 41. The coroner's office said that it was on the scene at the singer's Palos Verdes estate investigating a "possible suicide." Details of the case would not be available until after investigators returned from the scene. Law enforcement received a call around 9 a.m. reporting the death, Elias said. Palos Verdes police said it was unclear if the department was going to release a statement on the matter. The band had just released its seventh studio One More Light, and was embarking on an extensive North American tour this summer and in the fall.  · |

How sad. It's tragic when icons like that take their own lives - not just their loved ones they leave behind but a legion of devoted fans who looked to them for solace and comfort. Shame they feel there's no other way.

When you're low enough, you can convince yourself that everyone is better off without you. I can't imagine the pain he was in but unfortunately I'm assuming this is one of the many thoughts that flooded his mind

im not one to cry when celebrities die but this actually made me cry. linkin park was my childhood and my comfort music. its just a damn shame there was no helping him in his darkest hour as they did me in mine.  |

He was having the experience that 'there was no hope for another way' for him. That is a real experience which may or may not have been true. Either way, his earthly troubles are over. RIP. |
