Earthquakes suck, and after being in a large one every tremor feels like the start of the next big one. Not just physical trauma, emotional too.

Wow, looking at those last pictures, I'm surprised how well most of the buildings held up. Still awful, but it doesn't look as bad as Haiti.

The shock must be surreal. Even if you don't lose a loved one, one earthquake, and the entire fruit of your life's work can be gone in a blink.

the similar magn. shock 80 years ago killed +-8500, but now it's more densily
