Re: Lawyer: Va. Cops Want to Photograph Teen's Erect Penis
but here's what i dont get... when a person takes pics of them sleeping with a legal 16, they are 'producing child porn' even though it was consensual and served as evidence against a crime (in the case i told you about where the firefighter slept with a 16yo)... so, why then is it not child porn when a police officer or detective request these types of pics from an non-consensual teen under the age of consent? if the guy wasnt a minor, i would understand it a bit better.. but to 'produce child porn' or the equivalent in an attempt to build a case against the same child seems like bullshit to me, personally.

Re: Lawyer: Va. Cops Want to Photograph Teen's Erect Penis
I worked sex crimes for a few years and there's a legal loophole that allows police to possess and "manufacture" child porn. We had evidence books full of child porn that we scanned and sent to the FBI. The Feds had a database where our child porn photos were analyzed and compared to other "identified" child porn. See you need to have all the details on the photos to prove that the subjects of the photos were actually underage. You wouldn't believe the stuff the FBI has, they are the ultimate pack rats for evidence...simply amazing resources. Take their HQ tour if you're ever in Washington DC, it's a real eye opener especially if you're into law enforcement/crime stuff. Police must have child porn to analyze it to determine if it really is child porn and police need to take photographs of children's private parts on occasion as evidence...so there has to be loop holes to allow this. In this case, it's just so damn ironic that it boggles the mind.

Re: Lawyer: Va. Cops Want to Photograph Teen's Erect Penis
that i understand... in this case, it seems almost like, since it's between two children, it's out of line to collect this sort of information since it has the potential for abuse. i dont think the evidence would actually be used improperly but i would be concerned that it could be or that the case would fall flat and the department ended up having controversial pics that they ended up not needing. i understand the case for it but it feels wrong to me. |

Re: Lawyer: Va. Cops Want to Photograph Teen's Erect Penis
By the way, there's another tool that's been very controversial in investigating pedophiles called the penile plethysmograph (or phallometry) or as I like to call it, the "Peter meter". It's a machine that measures blood flow to the penis. This thing looks like a small blood pressure machine cuff that wraps sound the penis and measures the penile circumference with a strain gauge. So what you do is hook it unto any local pedophile's penis and show him photographs of naken children and adults, then child porn and regular porn. If the Peter meter registers blood flow during the naked children or child porn photos/movies then you've found a real honest to God pedophile...if not then repeat. The machine is commonly used to identify which pedophiles will be more apt to continue to molest children. There's lots of controversy overcthe machine and you don't hear to much about it these days, but it does work given the right circumstances. Weird isn't it?

Re: Lawyer: Va. Cops Want to Photograph Teen's Erect Penis
Yup...I agree, it always made me feel weird and pervy to look at the child porn photos and video tapes...even if they really didn't look like they were children. Some of the stuff I've seen has been really really young kids and other stuff where the children are from 15 to 17+ and in many cases they don't really look like children. That's why I'm really uncomfortable with the whole shaved pubic hair thing...it just looks too kiddy porn like to me.
