But it's always the privileged who seem to be the most in favor of communism and socialism. Working for a living instills a certain degree of enlightened self-interest in a person, a kind of mindset that is averse to the state-sponsored theft and redistribution of that which one has rightfully earned. It's easy to want to give everyone else's shit away when you assume that everyone else has as much excess to spare as you do.

You make a very good point my fellow Metal Head. But that's the thing Che was a day laborer. He worked his ass off. Castro offered him any position of power and Cuban citizenship but Che chosed to work in the sugar field. Che chosed to fight in Bolivia. It was his destiny to die fighting. His final words were: "Look at me in the eyes! Your only killing a man, not his ideas!!"

Fuck yeah Che was one bad motherfucker. Just recently his skeleton was discovered and sent to Cuba. They only had his hands before.

Bad motherfucker or not, he died for the wrong cause. Rush wrote a song called "The Trees," and it sums up communism and socialism perfectly.

There's a huge difference between elevating the downtrodden, and dragging others down until they're downtrodden as well.

This is a very interesting and enlightening argument. I have always been befuddled at why people who have nothing to gain, but perhaps everything to lose from a communist state always boast themselves as socialist revolutionaries. This seems to make sense as to why that is.
