WICHITA, KS (WXIA) – Police said a 36 year old man faces child abuse charges after his girlfriend’s 2 year old son was found with an octopus lodged in his throat Tuesday night.

Wichita Police said the boy’s 21 year old mother came home from work and found her boyfriend trying to do CPR on the boy, who was not breathing. When first responders arrived, they transported the boy to a local hospital in critical condition.

Doctors at the hospital found a small octopus lodged in the boy’s throat. Police said the octopus appeared to be for sushi. They said the boy also had facial injuries.

Police said the mother’s boyfriend, identified as Matthew Gallagher, was not able to explain what happened to the boy.

Not that it makes it right, but, our news stated the head of the octopus was 2 inches in diameter. The photo makes it appear much bigger.

I read that the kid is doing okay in hospital. It's beyond me why anyone would put an octopus in a child's mouth, though.

Well one thing is for sure a 2 year old didn't suddenly go sea fishing, the fact that that hippie can't proffer an explanation as to what happened is quite telling.

When a baby, who couldn't possibly have wanted to eat an octopus, is involved, guilty until proven innocent in my book.


There was bruising on the baby's face leading me to believe the psycho forced it into the baby's mouth/throat.

If the octopus was left in reach of the toddler, that could be negligence, too. They are climbers!

Cannot find a picture, since she has not been identified, but, found this piece of info.

Brett Flower, the 24 year old boyfriend of the child's mother, was found to have poured beer down the baby's throat on several occasions.

I don't know when women are going to learn not to leave babies with men who are not the father. Some fathers cannot even deal with them. Some women can't either, but, you get the point.

This cunt should not even have this baby! The octopus was poisonous, too.

The baby does not appear to have brain damage from the lack of oxygen.

Perhaps someone in Kansas can to go to the 4900 block of East Waterman and find her name.

Those people need to NOT ATTEMPT TO PREPARE ANY kind of food outside of hamburgers hot dogs and occasional wild game....as in HOOFED animals....no delicate foods....no seafoods....just NO.

That beng out of the way....YOUNG CHILDREN SHOULD NEVER EVER be fed sushi....or ANY uncooked seafoods.... Underdeveloped immune systems and the like...third: gallagher just LOOKS like he aint bright.....dimly lit, that one...
