Jumping Sturgeon Kills 5-year-old Girl on Suwanee River
A five-year-old girl has been killed by a jumping sturgeon which leaped onto her family's boat.
Tragic: Jayln Rippy, five, was travelling along the Suwannee River near Gainsville, Florida, on Thursday when she was struck by a jumping sturgeon Family outing: Her mother Tanya Faye, 31, (pictured left) and nine-year-old brother Trevor were also injured during the horrifying incident Outlook: Her mother and brother were airlifted to hospital and treated for facial injuries that will need surgery The fish are known for leaping more than seven feet above the water. This is exactly why I say we need to drain the ocean and all waterways: nature has just been down in the depths sharpening her teeth for eons untold. Who knows what prehistoric monstrosities lurk in those watery wastes? We must act now to preserve the dominance of our species lest the sea rise up and saddle us with slavery under an army of fishy overlords. |
