Yeah, it's so messed up. I wonder who the father is also. And I am now wondering how involved the fathers were in their children's lives. This case is complicated and sad.

Re: Judge: No Estate Rights For NY Mom Who Killed Kids

Winning a defense case by reason of insanity is almost impossible. This woman was very, very sick, but that does not mean that she didn't love her children. I find the use of the word 'incubator' to be highly inappropriate in this case. You wouldn't send a woman with downs syndrome to the electric chair, so why lynch this woman for an illness she couldn't control? What she did was horrific and sickening but that doesn't make her a monster. She truly thought she was doing the right thing. This was a tragedy in every sense of the word

She still shouldn't get any money for it, though

'it's outrageous' that Brewer was able to conceive a child while incarcerated.
That's a well put statement

Along the same lines and in defense of mothers, generally:
.... well why should mothers have to be subjected to any more name-calling, character assination or judgemental moral high-grounding than fathers, just cause it is so much easier to identify who the mother is?
.... we need to stop targeting the mother just because she had to stick around to have the baby or raise the fatherless child in poverty.

.... it is not fair to attack the mother when the father didn't stick around to accept his share of attention, praise or blame. Abandoning your baby and the birth mother of your child in her vulnerable time of need is abusive to both your child and your child's mother.

.... What shall we say about these absent "fathers" parade around among us pretending to be decent human beings? What percentage of the total male population do they represent?
.... suggestions, please?

"dogs"?

No; better: "curs"

Re: Judge: No Estate Rights For NY Mom Who Killed Kids

I still think women should use birth control until they know the man/men fathering their child/children.

Once may be a mistake, but, to keep doing it, is irresponsible.

I know she had mental issues, but, perhaps the children should have been removed from her care.
