Joran Van Der Sloot Marries Pregnant Girlfriend in Prision
Waiting for video of bride to post. For now, here is a link of the announcement: http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/vi...sitor.hln.html By Greg Botelho and Maria Elena Belaunde, CNN July 4, 2014 Joran van der Sloot marries a woman whom he met as she visited his Lima prison The couple are expecting a child together in September, according to his lawyer Van der Sloot pleaded guilty in 2012 to the murder of a 21 year old Peruvian woman He was arrested twice, but never charged, in Natalee Holloway's disappearance (CNN) -- Joran van der Sloot has been tied to the disappearance of one woman and been convicted of murdering another. Now, he's a taken man. The Dutch national, who is serving a 28 year sentence for the killing of Stephany Flores -- married a Peruvian woman named Leidy Figueroa, on Friday morning, his attorney told CNN en Espanol. The nuptials took place at the Lima, Peru, prison where the 26 year old van der Sloot is being held, according to the lawyer, Maximo Altez. John Barrera, Mayor of Ancón District, presided over the ceremony. Van der Sloot is expected to become a father in September, when Figureoa is due to give birth to their child together, Altez said. But, just like he won't have a honeymoon anytime soon, van der Sloot won't be around to change diapers after the baby heads home. That's because he has been sentenced to 28 years for the murder of Flores. Once he's eligible to get out of prison for that crime, van der Sloot is set to be extradited to the United States to face charges related to the case of Natalee Holloway, the Alabama 18 year old last seen leaving an Aruba nightclub in 2005 with van der Sloot and two other men. Accountant met inmate while visiting a relative. There's no reason to believe that Figueroa didn't know about van der Sloot's past when the two first encountered one another. They met when Figueroa, an accountant with a young boy from another relationship, was visiting a relative in the Peruvian prison where van der Sloot was being held. "They became friends and spent a lot of time together in his cell," Altez said earlier this year. "Unlike the United States, here in Peru, loved ones or relatives can see inmates inside their jails." In January 2012, van der Sloot made a far different pronouncement when he pleaded guilty to all charges against him in Flores' killing. "I am really sorry for what happened," he told the three magistrates overseeing his trial in Lima. Police say van der Sloot killed the then 21 year old, Flores in his Lima hotel room in May, 2010, then took money and bank cards from her wallet and fled to Chile. He was arrested a few days later in that South American country. Investigators believe van der Sloot killed Flores after she found something related to the Holloway case on van der Sloot's computer as she visited with him in his hotel room. Lawyer: 'No hidden agendas' with marriage Holloway's body has never been found, and her case -- which drew intense international attention in the weeks after it unfolded -- has never been solved. Van der Sloot was the main suspect in the 2005 disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba. Van der Sloot himself was arrested twice in Aruba in connection with the Alabama teenager's disappearance. However, he was never charged in that Caribbean nation. He has been charged in the United States in relation to her case, though. In June 2010, a Federal Grand Jury based in Alabama indicted van der Sloot on charges of allegedly attempting to extort $250,000 from Holloway's mother, Beth. Van der Sloot offered to provide what turned out to be bogus information about the whereabouts of Holloway's remains in exchange for the money, according to the indictment against him. He was allegedly given $25,000, which authorities say he used to travel to Peru for a poker tournament. 2012: Natalee Holloway declared legally dead In March, Peru agreed to extradite van der Sloot to the United States on these charges sometime after he's eligible for release, in 2038, for Flores murder. Peruvian media have raised the possibility that van der Sloot got married to avoid extradition to the United States. But Altez, his defense lawyer, this Spring dismissed that suggestion, saying then that the wedding shouldn't be, "a big deal." "He's getting married because he's in love and is having a child," Altez said in May. "There are no hidden agendas." |

This guy is so obviously a textbook psychopath that it boggles the mind. It's so obvious that you just can't believe it.

Re: Joran Van Der Sloot Marries Pregnant Girlfriend in Prision
I watched a documentary about the disappearance of Natalee Holloway a few years back, and the portrait of van der Sloot already gave me really bad vibes. Being a woman myself, I'm having a hard time to understand why some ladies fall for these obviously dysfunctional turds.

It's the same as Ted Bundy...decent looking, charming, sociopathic personality, bad boy, etc. We're all just lucky he prefers women and not children...he would have been an excellent pedophile and probably never would have been caught.

Excellent point! I don't find any of these creatures charming, included Bernardo, who recently got engaged! They all have the same beady little eyes and fake smiles. I know, even the judge who presided over Bundy's case, found him charming and very intelligent. Somewhere, out there, Bundy supposedly fathered a child... |

Re: Joran Van Der Sloot Marries Pregnant Girlfriend in Prision
Yup...Bundy did father a child. If you want to really get creeped out take a look at Charlie Manson. Remember how the Manson Family was structured? It was basically a 1960's commune where everyone watched and cared for everyone elses children in a communal nursery. The children were mixed and eventually no one knew who fathered or gave birth tonwhich children. There are absolutely children that are Charlie's living out there somewhere. Everyone knows that there are, but no one knows for certain how many are out there. Official estimates from the late 1960's range from three to as many as twelve. These children have never been officially identified as being fathered by Charlie and it would be a really interesting study to do DNA testing on ally the Manson Family children. Those children were sent to foster care and many, if not all, were eventually placed for adoption. So out there somewhere are the children of Charlie Manson...and no one knows who or where they are. Charlie I believe has two known sons...one is quite open about his father (and really looks like Charlie) and is a singer/song writer and the other son is more reclusive and to my knowledge has never been interviewed. Life is stranger than fiction.

Re: Joran Van Der Sloot Marries Pregnant Girlfriend in Prision
Life is stranger than fiction! I knew a woman, who became an internet friend through a former friend, who was, "engaged," to a man in jail. She started writing to his father, who was a serial killer and eventually died in prison, refusing to take cancer drugs. The son, I believe, is in for assaults. Don't recall if he killed anyone, but, the woman, the last I knew, had lost her job and a site published her name and home address and she got harassed! She bought her own, "engagement ring," and sent everything she could to the guy, with the help of his mother, who was in touch with her on a regular basis. She did go to Alabama from Pennsylvania to meet the father, who was quite a good artist, as a lot seem to be. I lost touch with her. She even lost custody of her daughter because of her supposed involvement with the serial killer, but, we make our choices. I have one of Manson's records, which sucks. It was a gag gift from a former friend. I feel bad for all the children, unless the mothers' traits are more dominant than the, "fathers'." Manson is under 5 feet tall. I cannot believe he had such control over all these people! He is always amusing on interviews! I blame a lot of his issues on his upbringing. The old prostitute mother who never knew who his father was, and Manson being in and out of reform schools and jail most of his life. Manson would not know how to live in society, in my opinion. |
