Joelle Silver Sues School for Right to Promote Christianity
http://atheism.about.com/b/2013/01/2...ristianity.htm In Cheektowaga, New York, science teacher Joelle Silver is suing the school district because her supervisors had the gall to force her to stop promoting her religion in the context of her job. Apparently, she believes she has a constitutional right to push Christianity on other people's children and the that government schools have an obligation to assist her evangelical cause How bad was it? Joelle Silver had numerous religious posters hanging in her classroom, most of which had Bible verses on them and one with a religious quote from Ronald Reagan. A drawing of the crucifixion of Jesus sat on her desk. A "prayer request box" sat in her classroom and it, too, was covered with Bible verses. She also invited a religious instructor to deliver a religious message during a class on Anatomy & Physiology. |

I was okay with it until this part: Have some trinkets laying around? Fine. You are trying to smuggle stuff where it doesnt belong? Not cool. This reminds me of the trial where some young earth creationists tried to promote the teaching of the young earth nonsense in science classes. Of course they lost due to their bullcrap not standing up to scientific standards. The Dover Trial |

If you admit to being religious you are admitting to believing in things without evidence, in many cases to communicating with something you cannot even demonstrate exists... I honestly don't think people with this disorder should be allowed to teach anything

Re: Joelle Silver Sues School for Right to Promote Christianity
sounds like the teachers at my high school. they loved to tell their students that they were at risk of burning in hell if they didnt go to 'Young Life' (which was ran by a few of our teachers). My wife went to school there to and was harassed daily for being Buddhist....it's bullshit and that teacher should be forced to remove her bullshit or lose her job. she can go teach at a private christian school if she wants to indoctrinate other people's children with that bullshit.
