Yeah it was a bit broad judgement, I knew downunder would bohooho and dislike my post lol. I like to play Rugby. I just don't like the way its marketed here in Australia. We market them on TV like they're freakin Anzacs....  I'm sure a lot of Rugby players are bad and good eggs as people, if you know what I mean. My point being that it's just freaking sport. And well, the key is, never to take anything too seriously if it's a game. I adore Aussies who see these points and challenge me on them.. and I learn from that. The problem that remains is me tolerating people only who support "THEIR TEAM" < I mean.. okay it is a game, but the passion is a little to vitriolic for my taste. But that comes from personal experience. I've known assholes who play rugby and fuck girls from behind....while the chick is vomiting at after parties - many more stories to tell too. Not to mention the bullying mentality toward anyone who doesn't like Rugby. The whole quick to judge thing is annoying. Then on the flip-side there's some Rugby players who very sweet at heart. So, call me biased cause I was verbally bullied for not being able to catch a ball during high school, by the entire Sports class. So to balance it out, I look at the flip side - for there's bad eggs in every basket. I wish people were more laid back... you know, if you're team lost, who cares, there will always be another game! |
