Japanese Chef Killed Over Fried Noodle Dish Dispute
Last Updated: May 18, 2013 JAPANESE star chef, Miki Nozawa, was killed on the German holiday island of Sylt following an alleged dispute with two disgruntled guests about a dish of fried noodles. The 57-year-old died on Monday as a result of his injuries in the intensive care unit of a local hospital, said Ulrike Stahlmann-Liebelt, the senior public prosecutor from the nearby town of Flensburg. It is believed he was beaten to death. The results of the autopsy establishing the cause of death were not yet available, Stahlmann-Liebelt said but unconfirmed reports suggested he died of a brain haemorrhage. Two suspects aged 50 and 36, were detained on suspicion of causing bodily injury resulting in death but were released due to lack of evidence, the police said, adding they are still being questioned on a voluntary basis. According to the Bild-Zeitung, a popular German tabloid, the men claimed they, “didn’t like the dishes,” served at the restaurant. Local media reports say the dispute centred on a dish of fried noodles with vegetables and beef. The Sylt Rundschau newspaper said the two suspects asked for their money back saying they didn't like the way the food was prepared. The news website Bild.de reported that the two then disappeared without paying. Later that night Nozawa, who was regarded as a specialist in Japanese-Italian fusion food and who used to cook for Russian leader Mikhail Gorbachev, met the two again in a local table-dance bar, where the dispute escalated. The cook was taken to the hospital with severe brain injuries and internal bleeding, Nozawa's former wife told the Sylt Rundschau. |

Re: Japanese Chef Killed Over Fried Noodle Dish Dispute
I think so, too. Some cooking/food preparation is a matter of personal taste. If you are polite when you don't like something, most places will switch it for you. If I order something else and take the one I didn't like home, I can usually find someone else to eat it. If something is not cooked the way it was ordered, they should without any issue. But, to kill the cook! |

Fucked-up indeed. And FFS Japanese-style noodle dishes are easy to make at home, you'd think they'd have books, websites and ingredients to make that shizz at home in Germany... |
