In early 50's( for reconstructing ruined after war France) government allowed Portuguese immigrants (first wave of it). One of my buddies is coming directly from that, and the fact is:
-Portugal has not been colonized by France.
-They are christians (not saying, again, that muslims are all bad, but it was easier to link christians to other christians)
-The politics behaviours, in a way, let french to be not so much gagged and stuck in taboos about rascism and tolerance...

The result is those portugeses immigrants are much better integrated, feeling real frenchs, and respectful...Welcome to them.

It's a new era of elits and politic and it's an actual thing.

French mass people ( don't know for your countries)are deeply scared to see the evidences, afraid to be treated like rascists and xenophobic because of so much "politicaly correct" and hypocrisy assaults every day...Exept, maybe those who have faced directly the problem (some attacks victims, Calais or getho major towns locals for example)

I don't know the fix to the problem. But what I expecting is, even the net, which allows people like us to stay objective, and to speak openly, will soon be contaminated by that shit

Yep, but in some ways, sometimes I'm a little conflicted ( I'm not defending muslims culture, don't get me wrong) but watching some of our occidental behaviors( hard porns, consumer society, trash capitalism, pollution, israel situation etc...and more...) A "con job" is slang for a "confidence man" (a.k.a. "con man," or "con artist") scheme. In other words, a criminal gains your confidence by lying to you & pretending to be your friend or ally, but is really there to steal from you, or get what he/she wants.

This is different than simple robbery, because usually in a "con job," the victim willingly hands over their money, valuables, etc. to the criminal, because they've established a trusting relationship.

Look... I'm an American. A Westerner. I eat, dress, act, and live like anyone else here more or less. English is my first language, and the only one I'm natively fluent in.
I drive a Chevy Silverado 4x4. I have cowboy boots and Carhartts. I like plaid. I eat Philadelphia cream cheese.
I get my medical treatment at the VA hospital, and I buy almost everything I can at locally-owned markets.
I'm allowed to worship freely with Muslims, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, and whoever wants to feel religious. Or I don't have to worship at all. It's MY choice and that's how I like it. I don't want it to change, and I don't know anyone else that does.
My belief system has more in common with those around me than it does differences.
And you know what? Despite the skin tone, that's pretty much the same for the thousands and thousands of Lebanese, Iraqi, Syrian, Yemeni, etc people around here. They haven't shut anything down or banned anyone they don't agree with. They just open their own restaurants and stores to cater to the preferences of their neighbors.
I recommend that you do what I did. All I heard for years was how Dearborn, Michigan was being taken over by Muslims* and run by Shariah law. Honestly, there was a point where I thought it might be true.
But I had to see for myself. You see, I made a conscious decision a while back to live through experience rather than sound bites. I visited Dearborn, and the stories are nonsense.
Yes, there is a huge Arab population here... and they are religiously diverse. They are mostly Lebanese, and many of them are Christian. Chaldeans or Orthodox mostly... and they have the same Arabic language, wear the same clothes, and eat the same clothes as their Muslim counterparts. They are doctors, lawyers, police officers, and teachers. They build Ford trucks.
There is one of the largest mosques in America here, and it's next to a church. Down the street you can buy liquor, ham, and lottery tickets. There are strip clubs and bars.
And they have been coming here for nearly 100 years. Some of them are good old fashioned immigrants that came to find better jobs and lives than were available back home. Some are refugees and asylum-seekers.
It's a pretty typical town, you just hear and see more Arabs and Muslims. They have added, not taken away. They are part of the community.
And that's why I came to Michigan. There are more options to fit my preferences, and less people shouting "omg stop the Islam" when a restaurant offers a halal menu.

The overwhelming majority of these people are running away from a bad situation. They know America is a damn good place to live, even if you have to work hard to make it. There are of course shit heads in the mix, but do you punish an entire demographic because of them?

That's why people say "xenophobic"... by saying that they all want to dominate. They don't. By and large they just want to live. But you have assholes that want to do harm. That doesn't make them all assholes.

In all reality, one of the big reasons people don't want to jump on the anti-whatever bandwagon is that it scares the hell out of them. Maybe folks don't realize it, and maybe they don't even feel this way, but it just sounds so damn familiar to previous anti-whatever arguments in the past.
Don't think I'm placing you in the same group and Hitler or the Klan, I'm absolutely not. But they certainly used the same tactics.
Again, it's broad generalization. Look around the forum and you'll see it directed towards other groups. "Black *******"... as if there's one dude that all black people are accountable to.

Please don't forget who I am or where I came from. I certainly haven't, and even as a Muslim I have a duty to protect this place. That doesn't mean I put up a wall and say "f*** off, you're brown and have a rag on your head".

I don't agree with everything he says, but I agree with this.

I don't think we should have to apologize for saying that Islam is inherently linked to, & intertwined with, politics & political structure.

And it is a belief & political structure that is anathema to freedom.
