Re: Huge Fire in block of Flats London
Honestly, thank you for contributing content, but can I please have my 5:12 back? That random, babbling woman is just venting from frustration. Sorry, that's not news. I hope they get some more verified information to us soon. I can't help but pray for those people and their families. I lost my Mom this week, so I can't imagine how much worse this must feel for them. |

Re: Huge Fire in block of Flats London
Yes, I was born and raised in L.A where most buildings are built to with earthquakes in mind. You cant go anywhere in California without places having at least 3 exits and numerous fire extinguishers placed around the building. I moved to England in 2011 and have been living here for the last six years. Most flats for rent are over priced peices of shit that dont even come with a fridge or stove and have no fire exits or extinguishers. I had to install a fire alarm in the flat I have, there wasnt one when I moved in. England, and London especially is known for Its "scumlords". Basically rich foreigners who buy property and lease it out at exhorbant prices, with the bare minimum necessities. Council housing aka "the projects" like the grenfell tower are even worse. The councils here are shit. In fact I would rather live in a south central L.A ghetto than to live in a English council flat. They are all ugly cheap ass cement blocks built by private companies at the cheapest and most cost effective to the dirty corrupt councils. They also bring down the scenic value of many small towns and Villages. UK government is a fucking joke. |

Fuck. Is that the body of Mohammed Alhajali?? https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.ind...251.html%3Famp No wonder he was the first victim named. I don't think he was a jumper, his brother lost him when escaping. More likely to be smoke and fumes. |

Re: Huge Fire in block of Flats London
Agree but How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property—either as a child, a wife, or a concubine—must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science—the science against which it had vainly struggled—the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.
