House Bill 93

In America, persons executed for their crimes have their cause of death listed as homicide on their death certificates. Apart from Texas, who passed House Bill 93:

For decades, death certificates for prisoners executed in Texas have
listed the official cause of death as "homicide." Opponents of
capital punishment have frequently pointed this out to support their
position that capital punishment is murder. In addition, some family
members of capital murder victims have complained that the word
"homicide" makes the killers sound like victims themselves. So, the
state legislature passed House Bill 93, which decrees that death
certificates for executed prisoners shall state "judicially ordered
execution" as the cause of death. Governor Rick Perry signed the bill
into law on 17 June.
"Individuals who commit unspeakable crimes against Texas citizens and
are put to death under Texas law are not victims," Perry said. "They
are criminals and the final document that bears their name should
reflect this fact."
