Well I would most likely have my ccw on me, I would call 911, then I would enter my home looking to see what's going on. I would give one verbal command to stop and get on the ground and if at any point felt an aggressive move, I would squeeze the trigger until he stopped twitching.

I would enter my own property with the intention of stopping the present danger and detaining any person(s) until the police show up. Very simple.

I agree with you, this was so unnecessary. The younger man, Rosa, wasn't just some guy out thinking it was okay "breaking into houses". He was a special needs teacher, who was on vacation staying a few houses down from the crime scene property, which incidentally has the same floor plan. Witnesses say Rosa had been at a party nearby drinking a few drinks, had gone for a walk, and officials say he could have very well been hypothermic.

Someone both drinking and hypothermic can lead to being confused, so the speculation is that he entered Fanning's property (it wasn't a residence, it was his business office) accidentally and was showering to warm up.

Fanning only 'says' he spoke to Rosa before going to his home, retrieving his weapon, coming back and firing 4 rounds through the shower curtain, into a wet, naked, unarmed man.

We'll never know what really happened since conveniently for Fanning the only other witness is dead. Because he murdered him. He premeditated his murder in the walk to get his weapon and back. Instead of calling the police.
