Gunmen Kidnap Libyan PM Ali Zeidan in Tripoli
The Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan has been kidnapped on Thursday after armed men stormed a hotel he was residing in Tripoli, a move believed to be a reaction to the arrest of a senior al-Qaeda member earlier this week. The first picture released by captors show the Libyan prime minister after gunmen stormed his hotel on Thursday morning. (Al Arabiya) |

Re: Gunmen Kidnap Libyan PM Ali Zeidan in Tripoli
Well, that whole CIA Black Ops kidnapping thing did prove a few things- namely, that the US government doesn't give a fuck about Libya's sovereignty or respect its government [we didn't even give them a heads up that we were going to do a snatch and grab]. In my mind the kidnapping also goes to show that US intervention is a terrible idea. Yes, we helped remove Gaddafi from power... which, of course, left an anarchic power vacuum we did jack shit about. So basically we waltzed in, played 'big daddy world police USA', and fucked everything up. But hey, we looked good doing it. /rant |
