I absolutely love these creatures. They have a hard time in Japan and it breaks my heart anyone would hurt them especially after the evidence that this animal is highly intelligent and can mourn. Hopefully the mother can move on:(

it was mentioned that this mother dolphin was seen to do this very same thing once before in the past. it has to make me wonder if this time whatever the first dead baby had is what the second dead baby died from. maybe it is something that an adult dolphin can withstand (as in the mother) but it stays in her body and then her next fetus gets it and then dies sometime after birth from it. after all she is breathing in the deceased offsprings germs.
