Grandpa Allows 10 Year Old to Get Tattooed; Child Removed From Home
Florida’s Department of Children and Families, (DCF), went into a home to investigate a complaint and ended up removing a 10-year-old boy after they discovered that his grandfather allowed him to get a tattoo. The grandfather doesn’t see why this is an issue as getting inked is a family tradition. “He got his initials out there on the right leg at the very bottom,” Jerry Gibson told First Coast News. “I didn’t see why a tattoo was such a big issue to begin with, and I didn’t see where none of this was right,” he added. DCF went to Gibson’s house after they learned of another issue. However, once they saw the young boy’s tattoo, they had no choice but to remove him and put him into foster care. “My little son called me and said, ‘Dad, I’m so scared. I want to come home so bad.’ When you have your youngin’ call and tell you he’s scared, I want to go put my arms around him and say, ‘Son, it’s alright. It’s really alright.’ But no, I can’t,” Gibson said. No charges have been brought against Gibson at this time, and he has already started the process to get custody of the child back. The legal age to get a tattoo in Florida with parental consent is 16. However, even at that age the tattoo artist can choose against inking the child. There has been no word on what charges will be brought against the tattoo artist who did the tattoo. *I'm curious why they were called there in the first place* · |

"When I were a lad we all 'ad tattoos, son. Made a man out of us. And before this 'ouse were 'ere, there were nowt but fields". Well, that's how it would sound up in Yorkshire! Tradition eh? Better than female circumcision but indeed wrong.

Re: Grandpa Allows 10 Year Old to Get Tattooed; Child Removed From Home
So his grandson got took off him for that yet there are still a load of kids left with parents who abuse them in physical ways. Which is worse imo. I'm not condoning the fact he allowed this to happen but it's seems pretty minor compared to other cases we hear about and the kid is left with the parents. I hope he gets his grandchild back. |
