CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- A two-and-a-half-year old toddler was slammed into the pavement by his grandmother, who then picked him up and slapped him several times in the parking lot of a convenience store, police alleged.

Several witnesses called Chula Vista police Saturday afternoon to report that they saw a woman in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven lose control after she and her grandson got off a bus and the youngster ran from her in the lot. Witnesses said the woman picked up the child, threw him down on the ground, then picked him up and slapped him several times, Lt. Dan Hardman said.

When police arrived around 1:20 p.m. Saturday at 796 Broadway, witnesses helped point out Kelly Daffara, 58. One witness was in tears as police took the woman into custody for suspicion of child abuse.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to check out the boy, who appeared to have scratches and bruises on his body. He was taken to Rady Children's Hospital to check for head trauma and other injuries.

Daffara remained in the Chula Vista jail Saturday but will be transferred to the San Diego County Jail, police said. She was booked on suspicion of felony child abuse and was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Oh my goodness!!!All this shit about child abuse is just killing me!!!How in the FUCK do people have no feeling's toward's the little one's they are abusing!!There is alot of sterilization that need's to be happening to alot of people!!!

Good job that didn't happen in England, social services would have probably given the poor child back in her care.
