Re: Google Apologises for Racist Gaffe That Tagged Black Couple As 'gorillas'
I don't see how this is offensive. Sure, nobody wants to be told they look like a Gorilla, but if it's the truth you just have to deal with it. That woman especially, regardless of her race, has the facial features of a Gorilla... Google should not apologise, if anyone should it is her parents.

she is making a face, too. People are just looking for shit to blow out of proportion. Hell,...if my hair were lighter, I might get tagged as an afghan hound. |

In my opinion it was just an unfortunate incident, one must WANT to see racism here... Google photos IS flawed and this is not the first (nor will be the last) case of misclassification (a couple of examples here)...

Re: Google Apologises for Racist Gaffe That Tagged Black Couple As 'gorillas'
I started my career at 17 as a "programmer" and now I design software....so I can see this happening due to innocence, bugs, untested software....a combination of things. People...especially now...when it omes to anything vaguely "racist" WANT to see this. |

Blacks down here call big black guys "silver backs" because they look like gorillas, people should get over it. We're primate looking as it is. Even white people have apeish looking people, look at Ron Perlman |

Re: Google Apologises for Racist Gaffe That Tagged Black Couple As 'gorillas'
The Hominidae, also known as great apes, or hominids, form a taxonomic family of primates, including four extant genera: orangutans (Pongo) with two species extant; gorillas (Gorilla) with two species; chimpanzees (Pan) with two species; and humans (Homo) with one species. Humans did not evolve from apes, we are apes. Talking apes.
