Re: FSU Active Shooter
Reports indicate Ikner expressed white supremacist and far-right views, leading to his removal from a political discussion club at Tallahassee State College in 2023 for making hateful comments about minorities and denying the 2020 election. Classmates described him as argumentative, with one recalling his claim that "Rosa Parks was in the wrong." An Instagram account linked to Ikner, deactivated post-shooting, reportedly featured a biblical quote about shattering nations. Ikner’s childhood was marked by turmoil. Born Christian Gunnar Eriksen, he was allegedly kidnapped by his biological mother, Anne-Mari Eriksen, in 2015 at age 10 and taken to Norway, violating a custody agreement with his father. Anne-Mari was later sentenced for removing a minor from the state. Court records suggest Ikner had developmental delays, special needs, and mental health issues, with a custody dispute causing lasting emotional harm. He changed his name to Phoenix Ikner in 2020, symbolizing a fresh start. |

Re: FSU Active Shooter
Court records clarify that Jessica Ikner is Phoenix’s stepmother, not his biological mother, contrary to some initial reports. She married Christopher Ikner, Phoenix’s father, in 2010. Phoenix’s biological mother is Anne-Mari Eriksen, a Norwegian citizen. Phoenix, previously known as Christian Eriksen, was at the center of a contentious custody battle between his biological parents, Christopher Ikner and Anne-Mari Eriksen, from 2007 to 2023. In 2015, Eriksen was accused of illegally taking Phoenix to Norway, violating a custody agreement. Jessica and Christopher traveled to Norway to retrieve him, and Eriksen was later arrested in Florida, pleading no contest to charges of removing a minor from the state. Eriksen also filed a 2015 civil lawsuit against Jessica, Christopher, and others, alleging slander and libel, which was dismissed in 2016. The lawsuit claimed Jessica used corporal punishment on Phoenix, which Eriksen disapproved of, though these allegations were not substantiated in court. A 2022 Facebook post of Jessica attributed to her showed her celebrating Phoenix’s 18th birthday, expressing affection alongside Christopher. However, the custody disputes and Phoenix’s exposure to a complex family environment. Jessica maintained a Facebook account where she shared insights into her views on parenting and discipline. A notable 2022 post included a photo of a child in a corner with the caption, “Five minutes in the corner is better than five years in prison. Discipline them now so the system doesn’t have to later,” reflecting her belief in strict discipline. Her Facebook account was deactivated following the incident. Phoenix also had a shotgun, and an AR-15-style rifle was found in his car, registered to his father, Christopher Ikner. Sheriff McNeil noted that Phoenix’s access to weapons was not surprising given his family’s law enforcement ties and his participation in sheriff’s office programs. |
