Frustrated Man Smashes Maserati With Sledgehammer

A Chinese Maserati owner has vented his frustration with the Italian marque by allowing four men to attack his Quattroporte with sledgehammers.

The owner, only identified as Wang, seemingly had problems with Maserati after taking the car in for a repair in 2011. He claimed he had been charged for new parts when used ones had been fitted and that technicians had scratched the vehicle when fixing a problem with the door.

The battering took place outside a motor show in the eastern city of Qingdao.

The elegant limousine was left with a shattered windscreen, smashed door mirrors, a broken front grille and heavy dents and scrapes to almost every panel.

It was then draped in a banner, with a note to Maserati accusing it of poor decision making.

Speaking to the Qingdao Morning Post, Wang said: "I hope foreign luxury car producers acknowledge clearly that Chinese consumers are entitled to get the service that is commensurate with the brand."

This isn't the first time that wealthy Chinese motorists have carried out public acts of destruction against their cars in protest of their treatment by the respective brand. In 2011 a Qingdao businessman destroyed his Lamborghini after the company failed to properly repair engine issues that the car had developed.

Re: Frustrated Man Smashes Maserati With Sledgehammer

Some chinese destroying a Quattroporte... With hammers most likely made in china©
This is hard to digest for me.
So the man is complaining because he has been charged for new parts when used ones had been fitted? They're exactly the same thing.
The difference is not between new and old parts, what matters is whether the part is able to do its work or not, and whenever you buy the component you are told that the guarrantee has that duration. But the part is guarranteed by the manufacturer, who of course is not chinese. Did he crashed because some mechanical failure? Tsk!
Instead of buying Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Zagato, why don't you buy some car made in china© , so next time whatever you do with that hammer will be the right thing for sure?

Used car parts (here in UK anyway) are generally cheaper so perhaps he was charged the high-end price for new parts, a lot more money and that made him flip.

Stick to Ford, they're one of the cheapest to repair. Get a blue Ford Escort and be satisfied

Re: Frustrated Man Smashes Maserati With Sledgehammer

Ford make reliable cars, i owned a Focus 1.6 for one year but i had to sell it for some reason .
My car is old, it's made in italy as well
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancia_..._Evoluzione_II
sometimes i wonder why i keep it since it's so expensive because of the price of gas, parts to replace (RARELY) and all the rest.
But if you love cars, you know that you have to pay some price.
These people from china not only are devastating our market faking anything, now they are even complaining about the quality of our cars or the components being sold to them likely by some asshole who faked them? In my opinion, what is bein told in the article can't happen with a Maserati. It would be a surprise, if the hammer didnt get more damage than the car.

You know about paying prices gata, having to finish every journey on foot.

I'd be pissed if I was told they were new parts when they're not.

Lol, i'm afraid i'll have to sell it soon.
Anyway, i don't know how stuff works in China, but in Italy if you need to replace some part of a Maserati, Lancia, Ferrari, Lambo etc.. first you have to go to some mechanical authorized by the manufacturer, obviously it's impossible that he'll sell you some old part passing it off as new, but it's possible that he'll tell you that you can get the same part from a crashed car: and he has to guarrantee the part for at least two years.
Maybe in china you'll find someone who will build a part looking like the original, but after installing it don't complain if one day your car will explode.

My dad used to have Ladas!! Cheap, robust and never went wrong. They always started up in cold winters - being Russian, guess they're made for it.

I loved our yellow one with big doe-eyed round headlights. Cute!

Is this "Bleeed.exe" able to type and explain what's his problem, or all he's able to do is to hit the "groan" button (which wouldn't surprise me at all)?
