Re: France Begins Ban on Niqab and Burqa

It's okay by all means. If they're citing security as the concern.
Yeah, but that's bullshit though. What if someone walks down the street in a dog costume? This is about Islam, plain and simple.

The authorities are working off the assumption that they all can speak/read French.
Some immigrants in North America may not learn English for 15-20 years, if ever.

Re: France Begins Ban on Niqab and Burqa

OK, let me try to give you and answer.

For a start, Europe is hardcore secular. The days where the church ruled here are gone. Most countries are packed to the hilt with agnostics or 'cultural' Christians that don't actually believe in any of that shit. Now, when a woman covers herself up, she is essentially saying "I'm a muslim, I am proud". It's the same as Jews wearing their funny little caps and nuns dressing up too. There's a growing distrust of ANYONE who is outwardly religious.

Furthermore, there is also an expectation that anyone who comes into the country makes a damn good effort at assimilating. This may take a generation or two, but it must happen. You moved hear, you adapt (I fucking did it moving to Italy, no fucking excuses).

Finally, Islam really does have a shitty idea of human rights, and those human rights were earned in Europe through years and years of bloodshed, which is still subsiding even to this day. Turn back the clock? No fucking way.

All that said, I am not European, and I come from a long line of atheists, so maybe my view is skewed. Take my words as such.
Well said.

Its about Islam, and getting votes.
Its really not much different than Palin saying things to appeal to the masses of under-educated idiots.
It still amazes me how many Americans think drilling oil in Alaska or offshore will have an impact on gas prices in America.........

Re: France Begins Ban on Niqab and Burqa

In Islamic countries it's the law to wear a veil or abide by proper clothing, why can't a Western country have similar rules? If you want to stay in said country either abide by them or fuck off.
Couldn't of said it better myself

To be fair to Americans, the support for Palin has crumbled across the board. Maybe there is hope after all!
