FLORIDA TOWN OUTLAWS SEX OFFENDERS FROM LIVING THERE
San Antonio is a small town in Pasco County, Florida. And until last Tuesday, when an ordinance was passed preventing registered sex offenders from living in the city, the town's biggest claim to fame was its annual Rattlesnake Festival, a tradition held for 44 years. San Antonio is only 1 square mile. The current state law prevented sex offenders from living less than 1,000 feet from a school or playground. The new ordinance extends the law to 1,500 feet for the town, making it virtually impossible for a sex offender to move there, reports Bay News 9 in Tampa Bay. San Antonio, home to just 1,000 people, has one sex offender living within the city limits. He will not be affected by this ordinance because he moved to town before the measure was passed, reports the St. Petersburg Times. |

Re: FLORIDA TOWN OUTLAWS SEX OFFENDERS FROM LIVING THERE
Bravo. Personally I don't think sex offenders should be able to live anywhere except a cell. It has been proven time and time again that there is no such thing as rehabilitation and in the case of child molesters they often go back to doing what they did before. Sad thing is that those bastards have more rights then regular law abiding people. In my area a known Megan's List guy was driving around by the school bus stops. People called the cops and were ticked. The cops said he couldn't stand it either but there was nothing he could do about it until he did something. He also warned parents that if they threatened him or attacked him that they would go to jail. |
