Fire at an "escape Room" in Koszalin, Poland
A group of 15-year old girls wanted to celebrate the 16th birthday of one of them in an escape room. All five of them died because of carbon monoxide poisoning. It is speculated that the fire was caused by the faulty seal in a gas tank which was stored near the flammable materials. One of the workers couldn't open the door to the room they were in, but tried to save them. He was transported to a hospital, heavily burned. (15:40, the family of the victims hears the fatal news The reporters speech goes something like this "To all the poeple that just joined us: We'd like to inform that on Friday, around the 5 p.m. on the Piłsudzki Street in Koszalin, a fire happened, presumably in Escape Room. 5 people died there, 4 of them underage. [...] As you can see, those are families of the victims. It looks really horrible. For now- we won't give our opinion on this event.") ------- First thread here, but thought you'd like to know. Its a game where a group of people enter a room, and the door behind them is locked. They must then search around for items and clues to solve numerous puzzles to find the key/door code and ultimately 'escape' the room.

I just took my niece to one last week. The key is literally next to the door for emergencies or bathroom breaks. I'm confused. Maybe it's different in the US? Sad. |

I believe it was a private setting and those are often overlooked. Emergency exits in those places are well, non-existent in most cases. So the doors were locked, and a worker couldn't get to them because of the fire. The 28 years old owner of this place was recently arrested. He can get up to 12 years of imprisonment. |

Yeah there's a movie that just came out called escape room it's supposed to be pretty crazy but I didn't know people actually played it. first of all how the hell did the place catch on fire that they were playing the game in I mean was that part of the challenge to to escape the the room before they were consumed by carbon monoxide poisoning or burned to death.  |
