This is a very rare officer involved shooting in that so many different agencies from every level of government are conducting concurrent investigations. I'd like to give the citizens/denizens of Ferguson the benefit of the doubt that they're not so stupid as to disbelieve all the evidence and agencies involved. But there sometimes comes a point where you're just beyond reason and nothing anyone says will get through. It would be a sad (but very funny) thing if they riot again and show their collective asses for all to see. This is certain to set liberal anti-police and Black racist claims against police back decades...they're going to come to a point in the very near future when nobody's going to believe them anymore.  |

I can't remember. I read it on here. He was black and hanging around with a white chick. Her daddy apparently didn't seem too happy about it. I think his tongue was cut out and other things were non "drug overdose" related. His family had a second autopsy done and all these things were found, that weren't on the "official report". I don't think anything had been done about it, either.  |

I remember reading about that case here on DR. If anyone was murdered by racist country cops and then buried amidst a conspiracy, it was Mr. Wright. But no one ever heard about the case because it wasn't as high-profile as the incident in Ferguson. As for the Ferguson shooting, Michael Brown had it coming. If it hadn't been a member of law enforcement or a shopkeeper like the one he was recorded shoving around just prior to his death, then it would have been a member of his own "community." What I find truly sad is that even Eric Holder -- the goddamn Attorney General of the United States Of America -- publicly played the race card, and tried to compare a bullshit traffic stop from decades ago to the Wilson vs. Brown altercation. When I read that he was stepping down, two things came to mind: 1.) Evidently the evidence at hand wasn't going to jibe with the Obama Administration's plainly racist agenda; and 2.) Between this and Obama's remarks about Trayvon Martin, it's going to be a looooong time before America elects another black President. A lot of people wanted to believe that Obama's election meant the dawning of a post-racial age here in America. What I personally am beginning to realize is that the Zimmerman acquittal and the (almost certain) future acquittal of Officer Wilson were and will be equal markers of that same post-racial age coming to pass, as it will signal the beginning of an age in which the criminal elements of the black community will no longer be able to hide behind the race card while naive apologists and inflammatory race-baiters make for them excuses rooted in the long-dead social traditions and institutional prejudices of centuries past. |
