Father changes story, admits he killed baby girl because she wouldn’t stop crying

INDIANAPOLIS – A probable cause document reveals more about the morning Indianapolis police responded to a call of an unresponsive child.

The child’s father, 23-year-old Christopner Schafer is now charged in her murder.

Schafer told investigators 3-month-old Guilianna fell asleep on his chest and when he woke up she was trapped between him and the couch and was unresponsive. A probable cause document reveals after changing his story Christopher confessed to harming the child after she wouldn’t stop crying or take her bottle.

It states “Christopher Schafer admitted to handling Guilianna Schafer roughly and specifically admitted to holding her near his pelvis and placing the weight of his torso upon her body.”

Fox59 spoke exclusively to the child’s mother and Christopher’s fiance about the man she was set to marry.

“I don’t know how he could steal something so perfect from me and from the world,” said Skye Johnson.

Was left the baby with Christopher while she went to work. He called her frantically to say the child was unresponsive.

Christopher’s parents say they never thought he was capable of anything like this.

“I don’t know what could have happened to cause such trauma and disaster. I don’t know what could have happen to take this beautiful baby’s life,” said Susan Schafer.
