The woman was trying to kill herself after smothering her nephew and tossing his body from the roof of the same apartment block in Zhanjiang, southern China, local reports said.
Family members are seen in the pictures grabbing the woman's legs as she hangs precariously off the edge before hauling her to safety.
One of the images, taken on August 14, shows her arching her back, seemingly seconds from a fatal plunge.
The woman's daughter had tried to talk the woman down. It is believed the family did not find out until later that she had earlier killed the four-year-old boy after an argument with his mother.

The woman who beheaded her 2 year old son got that part right! I think she was hoping the police would get there before she died, but, oh well!

If it had been someone that should have been saved, you know their pants would have come off! Not her!
