Re: Experts Warn Ebola Could Go Airborne

Its relatively new, when aids started people laughed, thought it was some gay disease or a black man disease w.e the people thought, that changed quickly.

Give ebola some time to settle into society.

Re: Experts Warn Ebola Could Go Airborne

When any new disease is new it obviously hasn't killed as many people as diseases already rampant in society, that should be obvious. This is also the first and biggest ebola outbreak, the others have been tiny in comparison.

Re: Experts Warn Ebola Could Go Airborne

It is quite new, largest outbreak was about 400 people before this, this outbreak is at 9k and is not slowing down.

It was easy to contain before due to smaller numbers, not so much now.

Also 1976 is the first outbreak, measles, malaria both go thousands of years back. HIV/AIDS is also very new like ebola, however 0 fucks were given to AIDS back then and look what happened.

Re: Experts Warn Ebola Could Go Airborne

The biggest difference is it's never reached a city before...... It used to kill so fast it would wipe out the village before anyone could get away...... It's mutated into something with a longer incubation period, so the infected have more time to move further away.

Re: Experts Warn Ebola Could Go Airborne

There isnt any "conspiracy of distraction"

Disease epidemics is conceptually dramatic in and of itself, and its tying into all kinds of world war Z popular culturist junk candy.

What are the "bigger things" we should read about instead?

Personally I would rather be updated on this ebola thing, since I work with people in the airline industry in current projects.
Media downplay isn't new, nor a conspiracy. It isn't so much that we "need" to hear about bigger things, its a fact their are bigger things to concern our selves with.

Hell, more kids died from that other virus, here in the US, and more effected. It has only gotten a fraction of the coverage, and barely the doomsday reaction.

Re: Experts Warn Ebola Could Go Airborne

Every century in the known history of our rancid race there have been 'frightening' outbreaks.
