She most likely cheated on him with a black guy while he was in war. She also likely was trying to make false claims and perhaps she was trying to get full custdoy of their children by making up lies against him and she likely wanted a high amount of child support that was unreasonable. In court I have seen tons of women lie about their husbands hurting them and the men get fed up and this is the result. A man can only take so much. We dont know who the real victim is.
