Re: Every Buy a Gallon of Sweet Tea from McDonald's?
Oh, and on a random, but somewhat related, note I find it hilarious that people argue with me about getting a diet slushy from Sonic. For a medium sized drink (about 20oz), the flavoring portion is only about three or four centimeters in the bottom and the rest is frozen sugar water. They think that by getting a Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Diet Dr. Pepper, or Sprite Zero flavoring it significantly reduces the amount of sugar in their slushy. I had to explain the portioning and ingredients thereof to one woman three times before she gave up (still not understanding that there is no such thing as a diet sugar water). And another thing. This one woman was so upset that she was getting 10oz of ice cream free. We mistakenly made a small instead of a mini sized shake. She refused to take it because she didn't "want all those extra calories." "I'm going to get fat if I eat 10 extra ounces!" she shouted at me. |

while I don't agree with someone telling me I can't have a large soda, I don't think the ban is too bad, either. It's not like they are taking away ALL the sugar and suddenly people will pass out and all.. There are other ways to get sugar into your body if needed. Candy, juice etc. I think people are being a bit dramatic with the whole ban.

I sort of agree. Don't live in NY but I wouldn't really give a shit if i had to get smaller drinks at restaurants. But its a huge waste of the city government's time and resources to be focusing on this instead of the more important problems and I'd be kind of pissed if the people I elected to the legislature were wasting their time worrying about soda sizes.

Yep and obviously people need their hand held to make wise decisions in health and wellness issues... every time I went to the States as a kid your guys portions are insane...I have heard of guys getting diabetes from drinking 6 2l of pop a day for 15 years...are you fucking kidding me? what about some water? when your that fucking stupid I guess it is nice that your government steps in to tell baby did a bad thing...for the rest of the world I don't think it is insane to say a gallon of pop at any meal is fucking retarded

Re: Every Buy a Gallon of Sweet Tea from McDonald's?
I happen to keep a 20 oz cup of water by my side at nearly all hours of the day, emptying it regularly. I hardly ever drink soda, and the same goes for my family. Many people are fat in my family, too, but not due to soda intake. I only know one person who practically subsists on Coke-a-Cola and sweet tea. Would you believe he's one of the skinniest people I know? BTW, in this pic, I'm about 20 pounds heavier than I am today: |

Re: Every Buy a Gallon of Sweet Tea from McDonald's?
What is going on with our governments lately? They are fast becomming like a dictatorship and it concerns me. I speak for here and the US. I like how they haven't tried to ban alcohol yet - a very destructive thing indeed. Far moreso than bloody fizzy drink! It's like people are being held at gunpoint and told, "drink gallons of Iron-Bru!". Imagine fizzies going underground |
